Introduction

WHAT IS A SPECIAL EDUCATION LOCAL PLAN AREA?
The West End Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) works to ensure that all students with disabilities receive the services and support they need to succeed.
Formed under state law in 1977, the West End SELPA is a partnership of nine member school districts: Alta Loma Elementary, Central Elementary, Chaffey Joint Union High, Chino Valley Unified, Cucamonga Elementary, Etiwanda Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, Mt. Baldy Joint, and Upland Unified. Together, these districts serve 14,143 students with disabilities.
The SELPA is governed by the Superintendents’ Council, which sets policy, approves the budget, and ensures resources are used effectively to support students.
We provide coordination, technical assistance, and training to schools, educators, and families, helping ensure every student has access to a high-quality education close to home.
